Welcome to Southwind Farm Rhodesian Ridgebacks located 25 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas.

Our foundation bloodline is from Calluna Ridgebacks. We breed for temperament, health and conformation according to the AKC Breed Standard. We follow the recommended health screenings on our dogs and submit the results to OFA: Hips, Elbows, Thyroid, Eyes (CERF), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Cardiac and EOAD (hearing).

We are members of the National Club, The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (RRCUS) and, a member of Therapy Pals of GTDOG.

In 1999, we acquired our first Rhodesian Ridgeback Kito Bandido from Heather and Eugene Queener, Calluna Ridgebacks, and in 2000, our second Ridgeback Rogue.

Our family members include CH Calluna’s Maxxwell D of Juba Lee, SC CGCA THDA (Maxx) and CH Juba Lee Girl On Fire At Southwind, CGCA, THD (Gabi). Meiko is our Siamese cat we adopted from Siamese Rescue.

Maxx and Gabi our Rhodesian Ridgebacks are very active in therapy visits at nursing homes/rehab, hospitals, reading with rover programs and Special Olympics.
